Stanley Music Festival 2013 presented by Martin (that guy on the radio) Deltrice - Audience Photograph
If you were lucky enough to make it along to Stanley Music Festival this year then you will already know what I am about to say...

Amazing!

From the gates opening to the last note played on stage the day was superb and without any problems.

Oakey Park came alive with the sound of music, laughter and applause as band after band took to the stage on 25th August making a great family fun day out and entertaining young and old alike.
Tony Afflick on stage at Stanley Music Festival 2013 - Hosted by Martin (that guy on the radio) Deltrice

As the crowds started to arrive the first musician of the day took to the stage.

Tony Afflick (the Stanley busker) opened up the show with a selection of classic songs and gave a brilliant performance.

Leesa Mae live on stage at Stanley Music Festival 2013 with Martin (that guy on the radio) Deltrice

Leesa Mae and the Leesa Mae band were next up on stage and all I can say is you heard the crowd go silent and listen as she hypnotised the audience with a selection of covers and her own songs.

Some of her set included a cover of the classic Guns N' Roses track Sweet child of mine and a perfectly selected mixture of songs, some penned by Leesa herself. Reach Out, Our time has begun, Closer to you, Miss You, Little Wing and Evermore Just no mane a few...

Leesa Mae with Leigh Wilkinson and Martin (that guy on the radio) Deltrice backstage at Stanley Music Festival 2013 Some of Leesa's original songs have been played on Local Commercial & BBC Radio stations as well as featuring in the background of ITV's Serial Drama 'Coronation Street'.

Later on Leesa took the time to have a chat and a dance with Leigh Wilkinson (co-host) and myself, and a good time was had by all...

The Dust Town Dogs live on stage at Stanley Music Festival 2013 with Martin 9that guy on the radio) Deltrice The Dust Town Dogs

As I introduced the Dust Town Dogs Leigh whispered to me, Shall we go for a look around... and as we walked across Oakey park we were suddenly stopped dead in our tracks as we heard Queen's 'Fat bottomed girls' begin...

Beautiful harmonies on the introduction to the song then lead into what can only be described as a wonderful moment of disbelief as The Dust Town Dogs gave the song their own magical treatment!
Martin (that guy on the radio), The Lovely Leigh wilkinson (co-host) and The Dust Town Dogs backstage at Stanley Music Festival 2013 Much to the appreciation of the crowd, this 'magical treatment' then continued throughout the entire set... Song after song of energetic and very enjoyable music from the band only leading to disappointment when they had to leave the stage.

We managed to catch up with the guys after their set and I must say had a lovely time chatting to them.

Mitch Laddie Band live at Stanley Music Festival 2013 with Martin (that guy on the radio) Deltrice
The Mitch Laddie Band

Mitch Laddie is an artist from the North East of England, who at 22 has released his second album 'Burning Bridges'.

His set on stage at Stanley music festival was describe to me by a member of the audience as 'awesome' and I have to say, I agree.

The Longsands

A huge thank you to Trevor Cox and Ian Barnes who are a part of the Newcastle based band 'The Longsands', for coming along with a special acoustic set to keep everyone mesmerised and entertained.

The guys were brilliant on stage at the Stanley Music Festival and I look forward to seeing them or working with them again very soon.

"We had a wonderful day and everyone enjoyed it from start to finish... We are already looking forward to next year!..."

Dodgy with Leigh Wilkinson and Martin (that guy on the radio) Deltrice at Stanley Music Festival 2013 DODGY
Dodgy have sold over 1 million records worldwide, released three albums and had 12 top 40 hits in the UK... and they were live on stage at Stanley Music Festival...

As I began introducing Dodgy to the stage the crowd were already moving forwards in anticipation of what was about to happen on stage. And they were not disappointed.
Dodgy and Martin (that guy on the radio) Deltrice at Stanley Music Festival 2013 Dodgy were incredible on stage, performing song after song perfectly. Some of their past hits and a selection of new tracks take from the new album 'Stand Upright in a Cool Place' soon rang out across Oakey Park giving their fans just what they wanted...

True gentlemen off the stage and very professional performers on the stage. Dodgy were a pleasure to watch, listen too and work with.
All in all I must say that it was a great day. Organised by Stanley Events and supported by Stanley Town Council and many other organisations and companies I think Stanley Music Festival was brilliant. The day went without any problems or trouble and the Police reported that there were no arrests made and they were very happy with the way the event was organised.

A huge thank you to all involved.
